Build 0.9.26 — Improvements To Impulse Wars
Quite a few updates to Impulse Wars to improve the gameplay.
Impulse & Ramp Tuning
- Forward tank velocity no longer negates impulse missile power when on a slope or ramp — it now only negates on flat surfaces. This reduces turbo from being an overly strong defensive maneuver, since it was already difficult to hit a turbo juke. If this doesn't feel right, a middle ground between the old and new behavior can still be tuned.
- The effect of impact angle on a ramp is a major influence too, and has been reduced a little to start.
Collisions & Visuals
- Hitting walls in the air now produces proper spin — mostly a visual improvement to the perceived effect of impacts that should also make following up with air shots a little more challenging.
- Missile hitboxes have been updated, making it easier to shoot barely over a ramp and making peeking more dangerous.
- The missile crosshair has been updated to make it less intrusive.
Arenas
- Mosh now has walls that extend to the ceiling.
- A new Impulse Wars arena has been added: ForceX. Its outer barrier walls start right up against the arena, which may make the outer edge a bit too safe — this will be monitored and adjusted if needed.
- DecemX and ForceX have rain weather systems added (roughly 20 minutes every 2 hours). Braulin has a snow system added (roughly 1 hour every 2 hours). Not all arenas have weather — only certain ones set to the Rain or Snow weather type.
